SlaterLabs Etude™ Software sets New World Performance Record in a Benchmark conducted at HP’s European Benchmarking Center in Boblingen, Germany between 2nd and 11th July 2007 by a joint team from HP, Microsoft, EDS and SlaterLabs.

Etude™ achieved a staggering 7,129 business transactions per second throughput over a sustained business day period without dip or failure; more than 69,000 database batches per second throughput over the same business day period; and less than .045 second response time for all transactions throughout all periods, simulating a large scale tier one bank with over 10 million customers and 40 million accounts.

Over the past 2 years the system has been fully documented and readied for the world of "cloud computing" and MS Azure.

What is IFW and FSDM

IBM IFW Financial Services Data Model (FSDM) enables banking business concepts, to be clearly understood and communicated. It provides an enterprise-wide view of data common to all financial services organizations. The FSDM is structured in a hierarchical, ‘top to bottom’ structure, or conceptual to physical design, with multiple layers of business content models containing industry standard business definitions of data. Each layer of the structure contains a content model which provides more detailed data based on the previous layer.

The Information Framework (IFW) is based around a number of architecture domain views, with three views, in ten columns:

• Organisation Architecture View (Structure, Strategy, Skills),
• Business Architecture View (Data, Business Functions, Workflow, Solutions),
• Technology Architecture View (Applications, Networks, Systems).

Each Architecture Domain is further viewed in terms of the levels of detail (A, B, C, C', D).
